However, we are interested in tracking down and documenting art objects from the former monastery.

The annual general meeting on May 20, 2020 has been cancelled due to the current pandemic situation!

02.04.2020 , Newsletter:
Dear members,

According to our association statutes, we should actually invite you with this letter to our annual general meeting, which is always supposed to take place in the first half of the year. However, due to the current pandemic situation, we do not consider this to be justifiable at this time. The board had already set a date in May, but we will now postpone it to the second half of the year. This is unfortunate, as we would have liked to have reported to you in detail on the current projects of the support association. To give you a little insight into the ongoing work, here is a brief overview:

1. The annual program of the Rumbecker Abendmusiken is available in both the Rumbeck and Arnsberg churches. Unfortunately, the first concert also had to be cancelled due to Corona (we are happy to attach the flyer as a PDF document). You are cordially invited to the other concerts!

2. A cross-monastery event with the city of Arnsberg is being prepared at full speed on September 5th/6th, 2020. The former Premonstratensian monasteries of Rumbeck, Wedinghausen and Oelinghausen will then commemorate the 900th anniversary of the order's first monastery being founded by Saint Norbert in Premontré in 1120. A weekend full of activities awaits you at all three locations with exhibitions, music, lectures and spiritual impulses. A warm invitation to this too!

3. The lighting of the historic monastery buildings is taking shape. The first test lighting has already taken place. We are now in the process of laying the financial foundations for this project and developing appropriate funding opportunities.

4. The grain mill and sawmill used to be located on the estate opposite the church car park, both of which were powered by a mill wheel. By reconstructing the mill wheel, the association would like to revive this part of the monastery's history. We are currently working with the city of Arnsberg to find the most promising funding opportunities for this.
Although the current contact restrictions lead to the cancellation of important appointments or at least make the necessary coordination more difficult in many areas, we are still continuing to work in a targeted manner.
We - the board of the support association - would like to take this opportunity to thank all members for their support and valuable suggestions. We wish you all a blessed Easter.
We will inform you of the date of the 2020 general meeting in good time. Until then, our special wish for you and your loved ones is
Stay healthy!

On behalf of the entire Board
Thomas Nobody

Exact dates will be announced soon.
We would be very grateful for your support in our work.
